Manipulated

Inspiration from an absolute MONSTER of an old school classic cooked up by two of my all time heroes; Ben Simms and Adam Beyer (Manipulated – Adam Beyer Mix). I stumbled across the original vocal that Ben and Adam used in the original so I decided to give it a re-rub of my own for fun.

If you want to learn how to create that extremely rough and rugged bed of rhythmical driving textures, that can sometimes elude you, then this is the one for you. I Teach you the beauty of simplicity and understanding of somewhat ‘complex’ sounding vibes. This course shows you how to create multi-timbral talking textures that can sound incredibly chaotic and hard to produce. The thing is, they’re incredibly simple to make and you’ll not only find out for yourself how quickly you can make them, but how fast you can make variations with a few very easy to apply techniques.

This track also relies on the heavy hard hitting distorted percussion that really sets that tough solid foundation for everything else to sit on. Get this right and you can throw on a sample of pigs farting and it’ll sound great. It just sounds good with this foundation by itself so anything on top is usually going to work.

Keeping this very old school, there’s a fantastic lesson to be learnt about the art of old school techno arrangement. Incredibly simple, not many sounds, just clever uses of switching up the interest with a minimalistic approach of swapping things around to create that subtle contrast of movement through section changes. Fantastic skill set to study to prevent you from getting stuck in the mud!
